How Can I help?
Stepping Stones Summer Bible Camp is always looking for volunteers.
We have a variety of volunteer positions. Although most of the
positions run from Monday morning through Saturday, there are
some that are part-time as well. Each position is challenging,
fun, rewarding and open for application!
Cooks and Kitchen Helpers
Your cooking responsibilities will include preparing three meals
a day and snacks for the whole camp. Each team of cooks will be
given a weekly menu that they will work with for their week at
camp. All of the cooks will have kitchen helpers to assist with
the preparation and serving of meals. Kitchen helpers must be
at least 14 years old to apply.
Nurses
To all of you nurses out there we invite you to camp for a week,
band-aids in hand. You will be on staff to care for the needs
of campers and counselors. As nurse you will be given the medical
history of the campers and medications that may need to be taken.
Nurses have a great opportunity to be involved in camp activities
and fun.
Lifeguards
Swimming is a favourable activity for most campers and counselors
at camp. Most weeks we spend two afternoons at a pool and a day
trip out to a local beach. Most lifeguards come as counselors
and stay the whole week. However, if you can't commit for the
week, than a day or two as needed would be great. Need at least
Bronze Cross qualifications.
Bus Drivers
Each week many swimming trips are made. The buses are used to
transport the campers to the pools and beaches. Bus driving is
a flexible position and all events needing a bus driver are planned
in advance, allowing bus drivers to commit for one way, a round
trip, or a week.
Chaplain
The
role of chaplain is very rewarding. Our goal is to provide Stepping
Stones with motivated, energetic men who understand the mission
of our camp and are able to provide the spiritual encouragement
and leadership needed for their week. You must be able to relate
and interact well with the age group present at camp and promote
and foster further understanding and insight into God’s
Word which adheres to our Reformed doctrines and principles.
Prayer
Support
Many people cannot come to camp each summer, but continue to pray
for Stepping Stones. We firmly believe that to run a camp we need,
above all, your prayers.
Financial Support
Stepping Stones is a non-profit organization, and dependant upon
charitable donations for its operation. You can help by sponsoring
a child's participation at camp. A donation of $25 will purchase
a child's Bible at camp. Donations of $250 will cover one camper's
registration. Any support you are able to give is appreciated.
Please make cheques out to Stepping Stones Bible Camp.
Tax receipts will be issued for donations of $10 or more and these donations should be made out to Reformed Conference Society earmarked 'Stepping Stones'.
